Pouting

Pouting quite often seen a pest fish when fishing as they take baits aimed at other fish they are not big fish but can reach around 2lbs and 30 cm.
They are copper in colour along the top and shoulders leading into silver and white belly area.
keep sizes for pouting are 18cm/ 7 1/2 inches

Rigs:
2 hook flapper: 60lb main rig body, 30lb hook length, 1/0 hook.
3 hook flapper: 60lb main rig body, 30lb hook length, 1/0 hook.
running ledger: 60lb main rig body, 30lb hook length, 1/0 hook.


Baits:
Mackerel: Cut into strips and whipped onto shank of the hook.
Squid: Cut into strips and whipped onto shank of the hook.
Lugworm: single whole worm threaded onto the hook.
Ragworm: single worm threaded onto the hook.
Sand eels: half a sand eel threaded onto the hook and whipped at the top.
shellfish: mussels, cockles, whipped to the hook shank whole.

Grounds:
Pouting will inhabit any ground from sand to the roughest grounds as long as there is food around they will also take baits presented in mid water as well but primarily feed on the bottom of the seabed.
